Baroness Nosheena Mobarik
Baroness Mobarik is the co-founder and managing partner at West Moon Capital LLP and a leading Businesswoman, House of Lords Life Peer, former Member of European Parliament for Scotland and Chair of CBI Scotland, awarded a CBE in 2014 for Services to Business and Public Service. A deeply experienced Chair and Board Member, she has operated at the highest levels of politics and industry for over 20 years, with a distinguished record of championing business interests, and a strong, personal commitment to supporting social cohesion and inclusivity. She remained deputy leader of the UK delegation to European Parliament (EP) from 2019 till Brexit in 2020.
In 2001, Baroness Mobarik was appointed to the CBI Scotland council, and held the role of Chair between 2011 and 2014. During this period she chaired committees that drove policy in high-priority areas, such as the Right to Work status of international students and Scottish exports, and presented at the first Business in Parliament conference on public procurement and SMEs.
In 2014, she was appointed a Conservative life peer. She became a lead figure in the Better Together campaign, on behalf of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party, a cross-party group that campaigned for the Union ahead of the Scottish Independence Referendum. From 2015 until 2017, Baroness Mobarik served as a party whip and then government whip for the Department for International Trade and the Department for International Development.
In 2017, she was named Conservative MEP for the Scotland constituency and in 2019 was one of their six MEPS elected, serving until the Brexit process was completed in January 2020. Over this period, she was a member of the Fisheries Committees, International Trade Committee, Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee, and Subcommittee on Human Rights. In addition, she chaired the Commonwealth Forum, South Asia Delegation, Generalised Scheme of Preferences.
Alongside her CBE, awarded in recognition of Services to Business and Public Service, she holds an Honorary Degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Edinburgh, was named Alumna of the Year by the University of Strathclyde in 2017, and was awarded a Medal for Excellence by the State of Pakistan.

Tahir Rauf
Tahir is the co-founder and partner at West Moon Capital LLP. He brings in a global experience of over 15 years in capital raising, deal structuring, due diligence and transaction advisory across EMEA, Asia and Americas. In a most recent transaction, he successfully raised $936m debt finance for a European consortium delivering a mega-infrastructure project in the Middle East. He has advised clients across energy, transport, technology, real estate and infrastructure transactions. Previously, Tahir has worked for the World Bank and Ernst & Young (EY) in Transaction Advisory Service (TAS). He has also worked as Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Finance. Since 2020, he has worked closely with the British Parliamentary group; All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Trade, Investment & Export Promotion in London. He holds an MBA (finance & corporate strategy) from Lancaster University UK and also has an executive management certification in ESG & Impact Investment from Harvard Business School.
